The primary purpose of this position is to provide accounting support for financial management of grant and contract funded research. Financial analysis and reporting for internal and external distribution. Prepares general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and reports for internal and external distribution. Knowledge of costing and contract compliance requirements desired.
Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics or business administration. Work requires two or more years accounting, audit, and cost analysis. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including excel, pivot tables and formulas. Full-time position with competitive salary and benefit program.


Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares and distributes Faculty Release Time Reports.
• Prepares and posts monthly journal entries to record faculty release time.
• Processes and approves all affiliated enterprise transactions.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual financial statements and audits work papers for Foundation and affiliated enterprises.
• Compiles and prepares other financial reports and surveys, as requested.
• Conducts financial analysis.
• Prepares and distributes quarterly financial reports to sponsoring agencies.
• Verifies accounting and database information for accuracy and completeness.
• Reviews and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts.
• Reviews GL postings.
• Provides backup support for the Payroll Administrator.
• Provides support to Senior Accountant(s), Controller and Director of Finance.
• Assists other staff in order to expedite the completion of daily processing or identified projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
