Summary

PROGRAM CORDINATOR
This position provides program support for the Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP), the STEM Takes Flight NASA Research Experience Program (STF), and other programs as assigned. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Technical Programs Coordinator and the Internship Program Specialist to ensure high quality, high impact internship programs. This position will support the marketing of CSIIP to students and industry to grow the program. The position will also support and coordinate data collection, reporting, outreach event, and event coordination. Job Responsibilities:

Specific Duties:

  • Coordinate and conduct marketing of CSIIP to new and existing companies and other organizations to increase the number of participating companies and internship placements.
  •  Coordinate and conduct marketing of CSIIP and STF to students to increase the number of students completing applications.
  • Coordinate surveys and impact data required for reports such as placement data, pre/post student and mentor surveys, longitudinal student tracking, attendance data, and other data as assigned. Reconcile the CSIIP online placement database system and ensure system is kept current.  
  • Support coordination of events such as tours, orientation, outreach events, lunch/learn and other events as part of CSIIP and STF
  • Perform other tasks as assigned including travel forms, certificates, coordinating student success stories, and supporting proposal development.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

The position is based at the Old Dominion University Peninsula Higher Education Center in Hampton, VA. The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is a Consortium of Virginia’s Space Grant universities, NASA Langley Research Center, NASA Wallops Flight Facility, and other organizations with an interest in aviation, aerospace and STEM education, workforce development and research. This NASA/State partnership, which began in 1989, undertakes a wide range of higher education and precollege programs ranging from immersive precollege STEM programs and teacher professional development programs to scholarships, fellowships, internships, student flight and design programs and faculty research awards.
