Summary

The Program Specialist will coordinate and support Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education and outreach programs for the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC). This position will coordinate and support the VSGC Scholarship/Fellowship program, VSGC NASA internship support, annual student research conference, a STEM Saturday series, and a variety of other education and outreach programs. The position will market VSGC programs, track applicant data, and provide reports as requested. The Program Specialist will report to the VSGC Director and work closely with the Assistant Director and STEM Education Specialists in performing tasks and duties. The position will report to the Director.

Job Responsibilities:

Review and update marketing materials, program websites, and student and teacher applications; Respond to programmatic queries from students, mentors, and faculty.

•Screen student applications and prepare materials and data for scholarship/fellowship committee reviews; Administer award notification process; Track award acceptances and program funding.

•Coordinate logistical and program support of student and educator professional development programs as assigned.

•Coordinate the Annual Student Research Conference and Luncheon

•Attend and coordinate components of onsite events; Collect and assess evaluation data to support reporting. 

•Make procurements and track expenses and funds receivable; Maintain program databases.
