The Assistant Director with the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) will be a member of the Consortium leadership team and provide project management and oversight, proposal development and support, and other tasks as needed in support of VSGC’s mission in STEM education, workforce development, and research. The Assistant Director will manage and lead a variety of STEM education, research, and workforce development projects. The position will also coordinate the Consortium’s proposal and development process including helping to establish priorities for funding needs, identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals for funding, and managing proposals through the development and submission process.
The Assistant Director will support the collection of project data and impacts and outcomes to prepare reports and for continuous improvement. The position will provide data analysis and dissemination of data and reports to sponsors and stakeholders as required. The position may supervise program staff including professional and administrative positions and VSGC consultants and master teachers. The position will also provide public outreach and marketing of Consortium’s programs at local, state, regional, and national conferences and other events.
The position is based at the Old Dominion University Peninsula Higher Education Center in Hampton, VA. The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is a Consortium of Virginia’s Space Grant universities, NASA Langley Research Center, NASA Wallops Flight Facility, and other organizations with an interest in aviation, aerospace and STEM education, workforce development and research.
