Summary

Old Dominion University’s Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation’s (OERI) is looking for a Project Scientist.  The position will support the 5G testbed activities. The activities will involve design of the 5G testbed, configuring and installing the hardware and software, conducting experiments, collect data, and generate reports. The role involves conducting independent and collaborative research. This position serves as a key contributor to the ODU's efforts to advance the state of the art in 5G. The Project Scientist position will also help foster interdisciplinary collaboration and promote innovation by sharing findings through publications, presentations, and outreach activities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to development of the 5G testbed
  • Develop, simulate, and analyze activities in the 5G testbed
  • Collect, process, and analyze data related to 5G testbed
  • Prepare research findings for publication and presentation, including drafting manuscripts for submission to conferences and journals
  • Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external partners to advance research objectives and share technical knowledge
  • Utilize programming languages (Python, Rust, C++, MATLAB) for algorithm development, simulation, and data analysis

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science.  U.S. Citizenship a must.
