Old Dominion University Research Foundation is seeking a Community Interventionist that has experience with youth advocates and individuals with relevant life experiences whose role is to help youth and young adults transform attitudes and behaviors around violence. They serve people whose needs go far beyond the traditional mentoring approach of companionship, confidence-building and typical academic, social or career guidance.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to connect with the most challenging youth and are expected to provide individualized mentoring, skill building, and support to high-risk individuals and their families using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach. Job responsibilities will be in close coordination with other program staff and guided by Individualized Service Plans. After hours and weekend work is required.
Minimum requirements: Two years’ experience in community outreach or engagement. High School Diploma or GED
