Summary

Old Dominion University Research Foundation is seeking a Program Administrator. Duties include managing project operational activities to include general administrative duties, scheduling, volunteer coordination, and assisting management and interventionists. The project is looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. The ability to multitask while maintaining complex schedules and complete administrative tasks are essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a fast learner, a good problem solver and well organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position. This is a part-time temporary position which requires evening and weekend work and is co-located in either the Aqueduct Apartments or Marshall Court Apartments in Newport News, Virginia.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain multiple calendars and email accounts.
Respond to questions and request information when needed.
Receptionist duties.
Assist with establishing programs.
Assist in training staff members and new hires.
Implementing and monitoring programs as directed by management, and see the programs through to completion.
Generate memos, emails and reports when appropriate.
Maintain office equipment, including computers, copy machines/fax machines, office supplies by checking inventory and order items when needed.
Respond to emails, answer incoming calls, and provide receptionist support as needed while coordinating
and assisting with all program events.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school Diploma
  • Experience as an office assistant or related field
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision
  • Computer Skills (proficient in Microsoft Suite)
