Old Dominion University Research Foundation invites applications for a Program Manager to support a five-year U.S. Department of Education Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) grant titled “Experience Guaranteed.” This project advances ODU’s national leadership in experiential learning through the Monarch Internship and Co-Op Office, a model for connecting students with high-impact work-based opportunities.
The Program Manager will coordinate day-to-day project operations, support budgeting and federal compliance processes, assist with performance reporting and evaluation, and help deliver key activities such as design thinking programming, faculty professional development, internship clinics, dashboard enhancements, and experiential learning curriculum expansion.This is a full-time, onsite position based in Norfolk, Virginia.
Job Duties:-Coordinate project activities, calendar meetings, timelines, and deliverables. Maintain project plans, documentation, agendas, communications, and scheduling. Support design thinking sessions, workshops, trainings, and meeting coordination.
-Support fiscal operations including procurement, purchasing, vendor payments, expense reconciliation, and documentation. Assist with budget projections and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.-Assist in preparing quarterly, annual, and final SIP performance reports. Coordinate evaluation activities including surveys, focus groups, and data compilation. Work with OIEA to gather experiential learning metrics.-Serve as project liaison with stakeholders. Draft communications, updates, and outreach materials. Support dissemination of project outcomes.Required Minimum Qualifications:Education and/or training: Bachelor’s degree required. Two or more years of project management, grant coordination, or higher education administration experience. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred. Experience with federal grants and higher education operations. Strong writing and data coordination skills. Knowledge of work-based learning, internship or experiential/high impact practices.
This position is being filled through the Research Foundation, which is a separate entity from Old Dominion University (ODU). While we work in support of ODU, the Research Foundation operates independently and is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
