The Center for Mission Engineering’s Speed, Test, Rigor, and Innovation in Defense Evaluation (STRIDE) Project Manager will lead CME support for the Director of Operational Test & Evaluation’s STRIDE initiative, focused on integration of cutting-edge technologies – AI, advanced modeling and simulation, autonomy, and data analytics -- into DOT&E practices.
CME’s STRIDE PM will (1) co-lead peer System of Systems, Digital, or Mission Engineering engagements to advance digital innovation theory and practice in a mission-centric, SoS T&E, emergent and AI-cognizant “Community of Interest”, (2) conduct workshops and engage the DoW acquisition, T&E, and research enterprise, and (2) report extensively on this work including recommendations of additional research moving from discrete, event-based testing to continuous mission assurance by incorporating risk modeling and probabilistic assessments.
Engage, document and grow emergent, DOT&E-focused, Communities of Advanced Engineering Interest engaged in basic and applied research on integrating digital innovations including AI into Mission Engineering and System of Systems Engineering processes – including operational, acquisition, experimentation, and T&E organizations and processes -- to achieve desired DOT&E STRIDE outcomes.
Advance the CME effort to design and implement a validation strategy to prioritize such digital innovations, in concert with DOT&E principals, OUSD MEIA principals, USD Acquisition and Sustainment principals, and other DoW digital transformation practitioners.
Develop, manage and document at least one digital analytic workshop for diverse government and industry engineers focused on achieving DOT&E’s innovative analytic STRIDE mission.
Proactively generate research proposals and contribute to an R1 status partnership strategy with other ODU National Security Institute centers, and external organizations.
