The Mathematics and Statistics department at ODU seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The main objective of this position is to develop, analyze and implement new high-order positivity-preserving entropy stable spectral collocation schemes for the 3-D compressible Navier-Stokes equations on unstructured grids and validate them against existing numerical and experimental data a.
Education and/or training:
PhD degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field required.
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Work requires broad knowledge in numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs) as well as strong hands-on experience in developing and debugging large codes written in Fortran 90 or C++.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participate in research on all topics of the project.
Develop and debug a testbed code and run this code on multiprocessor computers. Present research results at scientific conferences and seminars. Publish research results at peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Supervise the research of a graduate student participating in this project.
