As a member of the Frank Reidy research Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, Dr. Muratori cmurator@odu.edu is currently seeking applications for a Post-Doctoral Research position  in cancer research and treatment. Research will focus on developing and characterizing a new tumor ablation treatment using electric pulses of nanosecond duration. Specific electric pulse protocols will be tested in vivo in mice and their efficiency will be measured by means of tumor growth dynamic and antitumor immune stimulation. The candidate will be part of a highly driven and cross-disciplinary research environment consisting of skilled researchers with a strong background in cell biology, electrophysiology, and pulsed power engineering. Applicants must have a PhD in biology, biochemistry, or a related field. A strong background in tumor biology is preferred. Hands-on-experience with mouse models and immunofluorescence on tumor tissue sections is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Generate stable cell lines using lentiviral vectors
2. Perform molecular biology experiments such as western blot, real time PCR and immunofluorescence 3. In vivo tumorigenesis studies
4. Antitumor vaccination experiments
5. Isolates and maintains primary cells from tissues
6. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on tissue sections
7. Provides training to students and technicians
8. Analyzes data and reports results at research conferences and in scientific journals
